After a series of miscommunications, mistakes, blunders, fiascos, Iffco Tokio insurance finally admitted to making all the mistakes and paid almost full amount as insurance. If in case you missed what had happened to the bike, read here. I got my bike back on 28th April. Since the restrictions were all around, I had to plan for a short ride. Luckily, May day fell on a Saturday and no curfews were in place. It was time to ride.

None from Club ROFL were able to join me this time and my usual ride partner – Captain Sabarish is sailing. This time around, Lallu from the Triumph group was available and we decided to do a small circuit ride, touching Mahabalipuram, Kadambadi, Kondangi Lake and back to Chennai.

We started from Tidal park at 6 am. As we wanted to avoid ECR for obvious reasons, we rode all the way on OMR till Thiruporur and took a left to join ECR. While heading to our next stop – Kadambadi, google maps took us through very narrow streets. We stopped and felt it was better to drop this route plan and decided to ride to the weekend ride destination for many riders – Mudaliarkuppam.

After covering a few km on ECR, we came across a signboard, pointing the direction to Chengalpet and so we changed route once again. One of the perks of going on a short ride with just one other rider – moment’s notice is enough to change route. Coincidentally, this road was new to both of us.

We touched Thirukazhukundram and joined GST, took the road which leads us to Thiruporur and eventually bid farewell in Adyar.

A short ride, new roads and routes, last minute plan changes – all part of a rider’s life!
