Lets be honest. The fly screen provided by Royal Enfield, even the so-called bigger one does no job of protecting you, the rider, from any wind blast. Hence I was on the lookout for a different wind shield for my bike. This is when I came across Autologue‘s Buff 650 headlamp cover. It looked bigger than the stock fly screen and I liked the design.

So, I initiated a chat with the Autologue’s team on 10th July 2020 to get to know more about the product. I decided to buy it and paid them on 11th July 2020. Since these were made to order units, I waited for sometime before asking for an update. I finally got the product delivered on 21st September 2020.

Now lets take a look at the product and packing.

Now, the flip side…

The final look!

Now, my honest feedback about Autologue:

  • Their response time was SLOW! I am quiet sure it will be slow too! Right from the time I initiated the chat on 10th July till the date I followed them up for dispatch, on 3rd September, they were lethargic!
  • I wanted the dimension of the product to see if this product is larger than the fly screen. I asked for the dimension for which I never got a reply!
  • Someone from their team (name not mentioned on purpose) called me around July 3rd week and said there is one full black unit ready for dispatch or if i wanted some specific color. I asked him to check the possibility of having golden lines to which he asked for 30 minutes for confirmation.
    • 30 minutes became 3 days. No response. So i called and messaged them stating I ll take the black colored unit.
  • Couple of days later, they informed gold lines are possible on the unit. I wanted some design changes – another 2 days lost in following up. July rolled over to August. No design updates from them.
  • “Orders are in paint process” is a common feedback I got a couple of times – for more than a week.
  • I called them up and spoke to someone (his name was not clear) – his response to my questions was “amazing” – monotone, no emotions, no concern; as if attending the call and answering the questions meant nothing!
  • Finally, I was informed that the product will be dispatched August 2nd week. YAAY! Good news! or so I thought.
  • Once again, the product went back to paint process.
    • This time I spoke to someone else over phone, this person was at least more engaging and reverted promptly with a sense of responsibility; at least over phone!
  • Followed them back after few days; now the status was product went for repainting after quality check.
  • After literally pestering them, they gave me a date of dispatch – 1st September, which to my “surprise” did not happen.
  • During the entire timeline,
    • whenever a pic of the cover was requested, I never got a reply from them.
    • whenever a dispatch date was asked, I never got a reply from them.
  • They FINALLY dispatched it on 3rd September.
  • The headlamp cover is only as big as the large fly screen that RE provides for the twins.

I have to take this time and space to mention my utter disappointment, lack of communication and false promises made by Autologue. Customer Service is lacking!

Bottom line, the product looks good, few issues here and there. Fitting could have been better. However, Autologue’s interaction experience is horrible!
