COVID19, whether we are infected by it or not, has left all of us affected in one way or the other! To us in Club ROFL, we were left wanting to go for a ride; however, all we could do was plan. When I was talking to my friend Sabarish from another club about this, he said lets ride to Shriharikota.
It was neither too far nor too near and was a decent half a day ride plan. Only PHRK was able to join for the ride from ROFL as others had commitments as this was a sudden plan.
Sabarish and myself planned to meet at CTC around 5:30 and then ride to SHAR nonstop, pausing only for a fuel break. However, Kamlesh (a fellow rider from another club) decided to join us by car. While we were waiting for Kamlesh, PHRK was already nearing Pulicat Lake.
Once Kamlesh arrived, we set up his camera on my bike’s mount and off we went. The roads were filled with “Take diversion” signals, leading to delays.
The Whine!
All through the ride, through the Sena intercom, I could hear Sabarish’s Triumph Street Triple and the engine sounded amazing; one can even call it the whine of the Triumph’s triple!
Take a look below, the road was wonderful to ride on.
After having our breakfast, we went our ways. Sabarish and myself fueled up and returned together to Chennai in a spirited return leg. Patches of road here and there were bumpy though they looked smooth and flat. At times, the bike fishtailed due to this.
Once back in the city, we separated at Guindy and thus ended a well deserved and long awaited ride not only to Shriharikota but a well needed break. Next ride is already under discussion and it is to a place we had already ridden to.
