A sudden plan to Jawadhu Hills on my new bike left me speechless. Read on to know more about the ride.
Well, if you work for a highly demanding job, you obviously seek a break and you would want to cut off from routine. I had previously owned Thunderbird & Classic from Royal Enfield. Currently, I own Interceptor 650.
The bikes I owned earlier wasnât exciting enough and ride friendly. For the same reason, most of the time, I would really hate to jump on it and go on long rides. Bike’s usage was limited to run daily errands. I had even planned directly to go for Triumph to end the limited fun I got by riding bikes. After all, I have one meaningless life which I have decided to make use of it for exploring and gaining experience.
RE Over Triumph
I was texting my friend and asked his opinion on Triumph. He advised me to buy Interceptor. Nothing kept me excited for a long time as interceptor 650 from Royal Enfield did. The moment I purchased the Interceptor, I always wanted to go for rides as much as possible. The reason was pretty simple, I wanted to experience the joy of riding which was shelved in my heart for a long time.
On a despise Sunday, when there were many delightful places like Kodaikanal & Ooty to ride to, it was my friendâs Deepak (Club ROFL’s Location Expert) idea to ride for Jawadhu Hills. I thought I was going to screw up my valuable Sunday as I literally had no idea what this place is.
Only later did I realise that Jawadhu hills is near Vellore, nick named “Ooty of Vellore”
We started as planned and we rode from Poonamallee, Chennai. The roads were straight and were really not interesting as they were NH.
Interesting development in the ride
Moving on further, after crossing the foothill, it just started to get enthusiastic. The more we rode, the more winding the road got. The trees, arches and the curves on the road just kept us going. On the way, we stopped at places to click photos
From the foothill of Jawadhu, the ride was 45 minutes away on the hills. Those 45 minutes was very well spent.
This place surprised me – Jawadhu hills is an excellent one day ride destination from Chennai.
Waterfalls at Jawadhu Hills
This place has got a waterfall – Beeman Falls – to spend some good time. There is a cemented patch which will take you to the waterfall. It is just 5 minutes walk. Mind, we went on monsoon and the water was very dirty – it looked like Industrial effluents and plenty of mud were mixed.
While returning to Chennai, we were cruising at a comfortable speed. We also stopped for a cup of Tea in a nearby village. The plan was to stop at Ambur for lunch as we got down from the hills.
Once we had our lunch, we took off to Chennai for spending the rest of the day with our families.
